When I hopped over to Big Island back in December of 2023 to see the rare Mauna Loa lava flow, I was absolutely mesmerized by the beautiful, raw, humbling & unstoppable force of nature that was flowing down the mountainside. There was a full moon eclipsing mars that night, and Mauna Kea over across the valley had snow on its top (not painted here). Believe me when I tell you, Madame Pele is very much awake and alive and she breathes creation and life into these incredibly special islands.
